Creation Not For Sale Climate change is priority advocacy issue for the global communion of churches. Climate Justice is also a crosscutting priority for the LWF, which means we want to address this topic at all levels and in different ways in our work. We stand in solidarity with those already suffering from the effects of climate change. We raise the importance of intergenerational justice while advocating for climate justice. Lots of churches in the LWF communion are already taking concrete steps to limit the impact of climate change and advocate for more eco-just policies. We have started to collect their stories and will make them available soon. Here are some great examples: Germany - Evangelical-Lutheran Church of Northern Germany: “My church aims to be CO₂ neutral by 2050” Indonesia - Protestant Christian Batak Church in North Sumatra: “Climate justice and interfaith dialogue should be connected” The Philippines - Lutheran Church in the Philippines: ‘Luther Gardens’ Democratic Republic of Congo - Evangelical Lutheran Church in Congo: One tree at a time Chile - Lutheran Church in Chile "Reform yourself! Recycle, Reduce, Reuse" We are interested in what you think about the initiatives of the Lutheran World Federation and how they inform inter-faith collaboration for environmental justice.
